Machine Learning Engineer – Fraud Detection

Paytm processes over 1.5 billion transactions annually, making fraud detection one of its most critical ML challenges. As a Machine Learning Engineer in the Risk & Fraud team, you will build and maintain real-time ML systems that protect Paytm's customers and merchants from fraudulent transactions. Your responsibilities include developing fraud detection models using gradient boosting, graph neural networks, and anomaly detection techniques; building real-time feature pipelines using Flink and Kafka that generate sub-10ms predictions at transaction time; designing model monitoring dashboards that track precision, recall, and false positive rates continuously; conducting offline and online experiments to validate model improvements; and collaborating with the Risk Operations team to understand emerging fraud patterns. You will work with one of the richest transactional datasets in India, spanning credit cards, UPI, BNPL, and merchant payments.
