NLP / Conversational AI Engineer

Nuance Communications, now part of Microsoft, operates a significant AI engineering centre in Noida working on healthcare AI, conversational AI, and enterprise speech recognition products used by hospitals and financial institutions globally. As an NLP/Conversational AI Engineer, you will build and improve dialogue systems, intent classifiers, named entity recognisers, and conversational flow managers for Nuance's Dragon Medical and virtual assistant products. Your responsibilities include fine-tuning large language models (GPT-4, Mistral) for medical and financial domain understanding, developing dialogue management systems using Rasa or custom LLM-based state machines, building entity extraction models for clinical documentation using BioBERT, creating evaluation datasets and automated test harnesses for dialogue quality assessment, and publishing internal research reports on model improvements. The work directly impacts healthcare documentation workflows used by over 500,000 physicians in the US, UK, and Australia.
