Principal Engineer – Platform Architecture

Airtel Digital is building India's most advanced telecom and digital services platform, powering Airtel TV, Airtel Black, Wynk Music, and enterprise connectivity services for over 35 crore customers. As a Principal Engineer, you will be a technical authority responsible for shaping the architecture of Airtel's digital platform across content delivery, billing, identity management, and API gateway layers. Your responsibilities include defining the technical architecture for large-scale distributed systems, leading a community of practice for platform engineering across 200+ engineers, reviewing and approving high-level design documents, identifying and resolving system-wide technical debt, participating in vendor evaluation for cloud and middleware partners, and representing Airtel engineering at industry conferences. The role requires 10+ years of experience building systems at scale, deep expertise in microservices, event-driven architecture, and a track record of engineering leadership.
